ALPHA-MANIA ADVENTURES: FROM RHYMING TO READING - HOW TO PROMOTE PRE-READING SKILLS (3PM DAILY)
Ruth has been a full-time teacher and educational coach since 1996, and has developed her programs and unique method of multisensory teaching by working primarily one-to-one with students or in small groups. As an educator, Ruth has a particular interest in working with students of all ages who experience reading challenges.
Ruth developed the Alpha-Mania program as an active early-reading program for children aged 3 to 5, with the intent to create a generation of strong, successful readers. Based on thorough research, Alpha-Mania combines two essential pre-reading skills: phonological awareness and phonics.
Twenty years later, Alpha-Mania has grown into an engaging, original, and successful licensed program taught in child care centres and nursery schools throughout Canada. It has also expanded into a book series called Alpha-Mania Adventures, aimed at teaching these same important skills both in the classroom and at home.
